This Legionella Awareness Training Course covers typical hot and cold-water systems and is suitable for:

  • anyone involved in legionella control
  • inexperienced and new staff who require an introduction to the subject

No, this course assumes no prior knowledge of legionella and is suitable for any member of your organisation.

What is not in the course?


  • This Legionella Awareness Training Course covers hot and cold-water systems, it does not cover the details required to manage more complex systems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers, spa pools, swimming pools, or manufacturing process waters. 
  • For people with overall control of a premises i.e. Duty Holders and ‘The Responsible Person’ we recommend our more comprehensive course ‘Legionella - the role of the responsible person.’

  • To enable you to consider what should happen next to make your systems safe and legally compliant 
  • To make you aware of the necessary guidance documents for future reference

What is the course format? 


The course is delivered via MS Teams or alternative video link in ‘virtual classroom environment’ with a live presenter.

Our trainers are experienced legionella professionals typically from our consultancy department.


How long does this course take? 


The course information takes about an hour to deliver; however, we suggest you allow up to two hours depending on the size of the group to allow for introductions and questions.


Is there a test? 


A test is not required. Throughout the training the presenter will interact with attendees and ask questions to ensure understanding and review material as necessary.

If you are organising training for your team and would like an assessment to be included, we can include a test and discuss your requirements with you.

Certification 


You will receive a Second Element branded PDF certificate of attendance via email and can also have access to City and Guilds certification and digital credentials if you wish. Certificates do not have an expiry date, however the recommended renewal period for this training is two years.


Digital credentials 


Digital credentials allow us to recognise and communicate all skills consistently. We do this by using the Open Badge Standard, a universal format that creates data that can be validated quickly and easily.


City & Guilds digital credentials allow individuals and organisations to recognise, communicate and verify skills and achievements online, in a secure way.
